About the winery:
Pommery & Greno was founded in 1858 by Alexandre Louis Pommery and Narcisse Greno after Monsiuer Pommery learned his wife was expecting another child just after he had decided to retire from wool trading. Unfortunately, he passed away only a year later, but his widow Louise took the reigns and the firm was dedicated to Champagne production. It soon became one of the region’s largest Champagne brands – they were the first house to commercialize a brut Champagne in 1874, and they are currently owned by the Vranken-Pommery Monopole Group, which also owns Heidsieck & Co Monopole and Vranken, Château la Gordonne, Domaine Royal de Jarras, and Rozès.
Notes from the Winemaker:
COLOR: Nice tender pale pink color.
NOSE: An aromatic bouquet of berries against a backdrop of pastry.
PALATE: Perfectly balanced, nicely fresh and fruity, with the finesse and delicacy of Chardonnay. Pink POP is a real treat.
PAIRINGS: To observe this wine is to awaken the senses: its pale pink colour recalls gentleness and femininity. To smell this wine is to enter into a succession of aromas ranging from red currant to pomegranate, all accented by yeasty notes that recall lady finger biscuits. To taste this wine is to experience sheer pleasure: on the palate, it reveals all the delicacy of POMMERY wines, wrapped up in a slightly sweet cocoon. It is as smooth as a velvet caress.
