Winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown’s Notes:
The 2014 Reserve bottling is comprised of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from barrels that were hand – selected because they represent the best qualities that the Sodhani vineyard has to offer. The blend is primarily clones 7 and 15 with a small amount of 337 contributing to the final composition. This wine exhibits the same core aromatic and palate notes of the Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, but being 100% varietal, it shows a deeper side of the site that is more blue – fruit and spice note focused. In the glass the wine displays an impenetrable dark purple hue that carries all the way to the walls of the glass. Decadent aromatic notes include spiced plum, oolong tea, mushroom broth, nutmeg, black raspberry compote, and tack room. The palate experience is densely packed with layered notes of rose petal, chocolate – covered espresso bean, blueberry, slate, and lavender oil. This wine has plenty of structure, held together with a set of finely – integrated tannins that give good grip on the finish and should allow the wine to age well over the next s even to ten years in the cellar.
Vintage:
2014 brought another year of record breaking drought with a growing season marked by small yields, small berries and some of the earliest pick dates on record but the quality of the fruit was outstanding; Dark color, intense aromatics, more concentrated, and great fruit character.

Ratings & Reviews
91 Points – Wine Spectator Magazine:
“This hones in on a tight, rich core of mocha, black licorice, dark berry and cedary oak elements, all well-proportioned. Though firmly tannic, this also shows a measure of finesse and nuance. Drink now through 2028. 280 cases made.” – JL (Jun 15, 2017)
