In 1740, Admiral Edward Vernon enforced a reduction on the strength of navy rum.

When his men complained, he suggested the introduction of limes and sugar to make the drink more enjoyable.

Admiral’s Old J Tiki Fire Rum redresses the strength reduction by increasing the volume to 151 proof.

This spiced rum is rich and sweet, rounded out with a whack of vanilla. Comes pretty close to the original flavour of the last generation – definitely a must-try.
