Made at the historic Labrot and Graham distillery, Woodford Reserve has been a firm favourite among lovers of American whiskies since it was launched in 1996. They are also big sponsors of the world famous Kentucky Derby. This whiskey is made the same way as the flagship bourbon, but it is later finished in new heavily toasted and lightly charred barrel, which gives it a noticably big spicy oak character. Rich nose of dark fruits, caramel honey and toasted oak. The palate is dark, rich in fruits, wood spice and friut. A long finish with honeyed apple and oak spice. Wonderful with ice.
