Created by the folks behind The Bitter Truth, this Dark Rum is made with rums from the Hampden Estate and Foursquare Distilleries, DDL (Guyana) and Trinidad. Hampden are the only Jamaican distillery to solely focus on producing heavy pot still rums, while Foursquare make some of the finest rums coming out of Barbados. These form the base of this blend , the Jamaican is un-aged and while the Barbadian rum is 2-3 years old. Then, some fresh column still spirit is added from DDL and Trinidad, with aged Trinidadian rums to finish off the blend. A lot of different rums go into this complex spirit, so you can use it for all manner of Tiki cocktails, Zombies, Mai Tai’s and Fogcutters. Overripe banana, vanilla, creme brulee on the nose, with some light funk, but nothing overpowering. After an intial sweet palate, it dries out to vegetal notes, some funk and also lots of spice. The finish is dry with nutty sweetness.
