Armagnac is the smaller cousin of Cognac, but although it doesn’t have the same prestige, the liquid is just as elegant and refined. While it can be made from up to 10 grape varietals, Delord uses just four. Single-distilled and at a lower ABV off the still, this makes for a very flavourful liquid. The ageing is done in cask and then transferred to glass demijohns. The Napoleon is aged a minimum of 4 years. The nose is buttery with nuts and hints of hay. The palate is creamy, nutty with a black pepper bite. A long finish makes this very enjoyable. Best enjoyed neat after dinner.
