XO, or Extra Old, is a one of the categories used to define the ages in Cognac and Agricole Rhum. It means that the youngest liquid in the blend has to be 6 years old. Here, the rhum is aged in Virgin Limounsin barriques and re-charred bourbon barrels. This not only helps in the colour of the rhum but also the flavours. Light and floral, with honeysuckle on the nose. An intense charred flavour which is balanced by the sweetness of the sugarcane. Touches of citrus also detectable. The finish is long and lingering, with spice, and a bit of smoke. Serve neat or on Ice.
