Alexandra Rosé is a rare and sought-after champagne that comes from a careful selection of the best plots, an exceptional marriage between the Grands Crus of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the 2004 vintage.
There are plenty of fine examples of Cuvée rosé champagne out there, but only one with the distinctive personality of Laurent-Perrier.
The house carefully selects grapes from its best plots on the estate, blending pinot noir and chardonnay to build an expression that oozes red berry notes. Its light minerality is all down to the Bouzy soil, only found in this special Grand Cru.
The colour is a deepish salmon pink, reminiscent of a winter’s sunset. The bead is fine and persistent.
A complex and well-balanced nose that is reminiscent of orange peel and small red berry fruit. There are some lingering hints of yellow stone fruit (peaches and apricots) and it finishes with subtle mineral aromas.
Full-bodied from the start, with clear flavours of black cherries. Powerful and long-lasting, with a finish that combines ripe red fruit with a firm grip.
Excellent match with game birds and a cranberry or bilberry sauce and it has sufficient power and depth to go with even stronger flavours
