Notes from the Winemaker:
The domaine is located in the village of Santenay and was founded in 1850 with vineyard holdings in Santenay, Volnay and Auxey-Duresses, plus part of the Cents-Vignes climat in Beaune. They branched out into the negociant business in 2008. Five generations of the Jessiaume family have managed the domaine, which is presently owned by former Rangers F.C. chairman Sir David Murray (whose vinous passion began in the 1980s) and his son Keith Murray. The winemaking is in the hands of siblings Marc and Pascal Jessiaume, as well as Marc’s son Jean-Baptiste, who won best young winemaker at last years Hospice de Beaune auction.
TASTE: Its bouquet exhales buttery notes, citrus, and an almost flinty minerality. Concentration is astonishing. Its character is marked by buoyancy, richness, remarkable acidity, and, in the mouth, refinement and opulence.

Ratings & Reviews
Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate (2011 Vintage):
“The 2011 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru delivers butterscotch and wax resin scents on the nose that needs more focus and precision, especially for a grand cru. The palate is better with a smooth opening and fresh pear and peach skin notes, a dab of nougat just in the background. But it needs more tension and complexity on what is, at the end of the day, a rather predictable finish. Drink 2016+” – Neal Martin (Oct 2013)
